Student Application PeriodJanuary 15, 2023 - April 1, 2023
Students can apply to a track of their choice starting from January 15, 2023. Last date to apply is April 1, 2023, but we recommend that interested students apply as early as possible to improve their chances of selection.
Screening RoundJanuary 15, 2023 - April 1, 2023
Student applications will be screened as per the details provided in their application form, considering their coding or design portfolios and open-source experience. Selected applicants will receive assignments on the basis of the track they apply for. They will be expected to complete their assignments within a given time period.
Proposal RoundFebruary 15, 2023 - April 15, 2023
Project ideas for the internship program will be published on the website between February 15, 2023 and March 1, 2023. Students who successfully complete the screening assignments are invited to an exclusive discord server where they are provided with resources to learn about bitcoin, ask questions, and work on project proposals based on the project ideas published on the website. See our student guide for more details on how proposal round works. All proposals must be submitted on the website by April 15, 2023.

Mentors review and select project proposals.
Accepted Students AnnouncedMay 5, 2023
Accepted students are notified of their acceptance into Summer of Bitcoin 2023.
Program Kick-Off and OnboardingMay 10, 2023 - May 15, 2023
Accepted students are paired with their mentors and start planning their projects and milestones.
Project PeriodMay 15, 2023 - Aug 15, 2023
Students work on their Summer of Bitcoin projects.
EvaluationsJuly 3, 2023 - July 7, 2023
Mentors submit mid-term evaluations of their mentees. Passing students receive the first part of their stipend.
Students Submit ProjectsAug 16, 2023
Students submit a final project report including project summaries and link to code submissions or project artifacts.
Mentors Submit Final EvaluationsAug 21, 2023 - Aug 25, 2023
Mentors review student code submissions or project artifacts and determine if the students have successfully completed their Summer of Bitcoin 2023 projects.
Results AnnouncedSeptember 4, 2023
Students are notified of the pass/fail status of their Summer of Bitcoin 2023 projects. Passing students receive the final part of their stipend and a certificate of completion.
